Senior Corps is a nationwide network of programs of the Corporation for National and Community Service, an independent federal agency created to connect Americans of all ages and backgrounds with opportunities to give back to their communities and their nation. The Senior Citizens Council has sponsored the Senior Companion program since 1985.
If you are 55 years of age or older and are interested in sharing time with senior adults or disabled individuals who need a helping hand, becoming a Senior Companion is just right for you. Your help and assistance can mean the difference between someone being able to stay at home independently or having to seek facility care. Your time, skills, and knowledge are a much-needed resource for our community. Call our office at (706) 868-0120 or Contact Us and ask for more information. Take that first step today!
Effective 3/16/20 The Senior Citizens Council was subject to the public health directive of sheltering-in-place for vulnerable populations. This order may expire on or before December 31, 2020 or when necessary. The sponsor will also resume or restore project activities/events upon approval from area Public Health and/or Education agencies/officials. This information will be updated as needed/directed.
